DAYELET BAKING SODA is sodium bicarbonate presented in fine white powder form with a slight bitter taste. It is an antacid used for neutralizing acidity (alkalizer) in many types of cooking recipes, homemade desserts and drinks.
Besides its endless applications, it can also be used as a leavening agent to substitute baking powders and help dough rise. When it comes into contact with water, it starts slowly
producing carbon dioxide; but when it reaches a temperature over 50°C, it totally breaks down, forming carbon dioxide, water and carbonate. This leavening effect improves the texture and sponginess of dough.
